Sydney Ealy, Texas REALTORS® 2020 Good Neighbor Award recipient, is now one of 10 finalists for the National Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award. An NAR judging panel will choose five winners from among the 10 finalists—each winner receives a $10,000 grant for his or her charity. However, all 10 finalists are also competing to secure the most online votes for additional grants for their charities.

Ealy, who’s been serving the Houston area for over 15 years, has a passion for helping others reach their goals. The desire to help people, along with personal experiences, is large reason Ealy decided to pursue a career in real estate and help many become homeowners.  

Not only is Ealy an excellent agent, she’s also the executive director of her own nonprofit organization, Together We Stand Tall 4 Girls. After overcoming great struggles as a child, Ealy seven years ago started TWST4Girls to help give young women from underprivileged communities access to opportunities they might not have otherwise. Ealy’s program provides girls ages 11-17 mentors, friends, and access to educational programs about life skills, such as financial literacy. Having a group of role models and peers to learn from and lean on has helped these young women build brighter futures and self confidence.

In total, 1,500 young women have been a part of this organization, with 100% of program graduates also becoming high school graduates and college students. Since 2014, Ealy and her 60 volunteers have raised $500,000 and put over 50,000 hours of work into this program.
