Travel with Texas: Virtual Trade Missions to Brazil and Mexico were hosted on June 22 and 23. Texas REALTORS® partnered with three international associations, COFECI, Secovi-SP, and AMPI, to spotlight Brazil and Mexico’s real estate markets. The two trade missions were packed with both residential and commercial expertise and concluded with networking sessions, which provided an exciting opportunity to learn and make connections.
Each trade mission was accompanied by free continuing education courses. Texas REALTORS® Global Committee Vice Chair Socar Chatmon-Thomas instructed Building Value through International Networking and Texas REALTORS® Global Committee Past Chair Holly Hightower instructed Doing Business with International Buyers.
Texas REALTORS® was honored to have over 230 participants in total from across the world join us on this international journey.

JUNE 22
Doing Business with International Buyers | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT
- International buyers spent $108 billion buying U.S. real estate in the past year. In this course you will learn why so many foreign buyers are coming to the US and Texas in particular. (Free CE)
Virtual Trade Mission to Brazil | 2 – 4 p.m. CDT
- COFECI, Secovi-SP and NAR discussed Brazil’s residential and commercial industries, real estate markets and trends, and how to do business with Brazil.
JUNE 23
Virtual Trade Mission to Mexico | 10 a.m. – Noon CDT
- AMPI and NAR discussed Mexico’s residential and commercial industries, real estate markets and trends, and how to do business with Mexico.
Building Value Through International Networking | Noon to 4 p.m. CDT
- Networking and referrals are essential in real estate, especially when dealing with other countries. In this course you will learn how to grow a steady stream of advocates and referrals in any part of the world. (Free CE)
